Term 4
Never Let Go: A Series
These photos were taken in Lake George, New York at my cousin's wedding. I knew before this project was assigned that I would be taking pictures at the wedding. The day after, I looked at all the pictures and completely fell in love with them. The concept I am trying to portray is that feeling when you are holding on to someone and you can't let go because your love for them is too great. Visually the photos show the order in which the dances happened. Each photo has one thing in common. They are always touching whether it is one hand or both arms, they are close to each other one way or another. It shows the bond between two people that love one another. Whether it is a father and daughter, son and mother or husband and wife, the bonds that we build as people are strong and filled to the brim with love. The photo I feel is strongest is the second photo. Not because of how it is framed or taken but because of what they are doing. Their first dance was to Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" featuring Carlos Raul. The song is not only in English but also in Spanish. This photo was taken during the Spanish section and they began to sing to each other in a language no one knew they could speak. Unfortunately they positioned that I was in had a huge glare from the window. For some pictures it worked to my advantage and I was able to add some cool effects to the photos. I was actually further away than it seems in the pictures. I used my zoom lens to get up close without having to actually be very close.
